Today we went for a walk, down to the river, and we bought a tree from a little boy in a scout cap.
We brought it home, hugging it close in its swaddling white netting.
We got the decorations out from under the sideboard, and the lights out of their box, and hung them on the tree.
But there was no star.
So we took a bit of wire, and shaped it into a star |
We took strings of sequins, silver and gold |
We wrapped them round the wire | |
And placed it on the top of the tree |
I have to say, I rather like it. |
